For You a Tune

by Mark Schatz (2/5/98)

Shall I play for you a tune
So sweet it glows just like the moon
A melody that brings a smile
To lips that hum a country mile

A step or two I'd like to try
With nary a single reason why
I'll take your hand, we'll dip and twirl
We'll promenade around the world

I'll cook a feast for you and me
Will you have coffee, rum, or tea
An island breeze will cool the heat
Of tropical sands that warm our feet

Night will fall and stars will blaze
As out across the sea we gaze
Oh worry not, the passing years,
They help to soothe old pain and fears

And you are sweet and lovely still
Your countenance could turn a mill
For you I’ll take this finest flour
And bake love's pastries every hour!
