2006 -- BCMFest
Cambridge, Mass.--Due to our new and exciting affiliation with the Folk
Arts Center of New England, a 501c-3 organization, BCMFest: Boston's
Celtic Music Festival is now accepting tax-deductable donations towards
the operating expenses of BCMFest.
Checks may be payable to Folk Arts Center with a note directing the
donation to BCMFest. Checks may be mailed to PO Box 390453, Cambridge,
MA 02139.
BCMFest, which debuted in January of 2004, is a grassroots, community-oriented
festival featuring Greater Boston's finest performers of Irish, Scottish,
Cape Breton and other Celtic music and dance traditions. The festival
this fall formed a partnership with the Folk Arts Center of New England
(FACONE), an incorporated nonprofit educational organization dedicated
to promoting interest and participation in traditional folk arts, and
to supporting other groups and individuals with the same mission.
"We are very pleased to join with the Folk Arts Center of New England,
and are most grateful for their support," said the BCMFest Board
in a joint statement. "This is a major step in our effort to become
a mainstay of Boston's vibrant folk music and dance scene. In the past
year, we have sponsored several events -- including benefit concerts
and 'Boston Urban Ceilidh' dances -- to help BCMFest become something
more than a once-a-year happening. We are confident that the partnership
with FACONE will enable us to do that."
The fourth annual BCMFest will take place January 12-13, 2007. For more
